An exhaust fan looks a lot like a regular electric fan without a cage or metal casing. It is used to expel the excess air or humidity inside the home to the outside environment to prevent the occurrence of molds and mildew that feeds on condensed excess humidity. You will surely want to avoid having molds and mildew in your home because they may be harmful to your health and they greatly contribute in the immediate deterioration of your home.
The areas of your home the commonly need an exhaust fan are the bathroom and the kitchen, or in instances that you have an indoor laundry area, it will also require one. The reason for this is that when you take a shower, prepare your food, or do your laundry, excessive humidity is created and is expelled to wander around your home. To prevent it from degrading your home, the exhaust fan comes in handy.
When you buy an exhaust fan, make sure to buy one whose capacity can satisfy your home needs. The capability of the exhaust fan that you plan to buy should match the rate of the humidity that is expelled in your home when you perform basic activities. Otherwise, the exhaust fan will be useless because some humidity residue will be left to culture molds and mildew on.
