Can you just imagine not having a single piece of vacuum cleaner at home? Vacuum cleaners are certainly one of the best appliances ever designed in this modern time. They make for handy companions and allies in our fight against dirt and litters at home. Older vacuums were heavy and expensive however as technology progressed, newer, lighter and more affordable vacuums have been designed. It is just fair that we use them and care for them accordingly.
Check out the part of the vacuum where dirt is deposited. Older vacuums have bags for dirt storage, newer ones often have removable and reusable canisters. If the bag is full, change it or better yet make sure the bag never gets full and empty the bin regularly. Same goes with the canisters. The fuller your reservoir gets, the harder the motor will need to work to pick up dirt.
Check as well the vacuum’s height. Most vacuums have adjustable indicators for carpets of different lengths. Make sure you set your vacuum’s length to the appropriate length of the carpet. If it is set too high up, the vacuum will not have enough suction power.
You may not be able to move heavier items out of the way, but do make sure you move small items out of the way so you can clean easily. Move your vacuum easily and slowly backwards and forwards over your carpet. If you move it too quickly, it won’t pick up dirt effectively. Lastly for corners and edges of furniture, you can easily make use of attachment tools for your vacuum.
